In 7 steps from a small dealer who sells drugs on the street to the ruler of a cartel - a guide to making money in unimaginable dimensions. What at first appears to be a humorous, satirical guide to the game is actually a serious examination of American anti-drug policy and its consequences. Matthew Cooke's gripping documentary, which allows many players from almost all levels of the "game" to have their say, ultimately leads to a plea for the decriminalization of drugs and an end to the unsuccessful US anti-drug war. A move that would amount to a social revolution. Filmmaker Matthew Cooke doesn't just want to convey facts, he wants one thing above all: to entertain. And he has succeeded brilliantly with this documentary. His ironic playbook for the drug market illuminates in detail, yet amusingly, all aspects of the trade in cocaine and marijuana. Two substances that are particularly in demand in the USA. However, both can be replaced by any other substance that falls under U.S. drug laws. The market mechanisms remain the same. Cooke, however, is not satisfied with providing information. His understanding and anger are directed at the many sufferers of what he sees as a misguided drug policy that primarily produces victims but has so far failed to curb the highly profitable trade in drugs of all kinds. Instead, overly long prison sentences are imposed for the smallest offenses, unreasonably numerous and harsh raids repeatedly claim lives and injuries, and the DEA and police are encouraged to work with means unworthy of a state under the rule of law. Cooke's film is a passionate plea for change in these conditions.
