The film's dual narratives reveal the darker aspects of city life and the intricate dynamics within the community. Manila paints a portrait of a society where violence and resentment are pervasive. William, a drug addict, attempts to reconnect with those around him—a fickle girlfriend, an unforgiving mother with a hidden past, and a comatose matron lover he wants to avoid. As night descends, William realizes he can't trust anyone, not even himself. Meanwhile, Philip, a bodyguard for the mayor’s son, believes he is valued like family.
